Skeeter 2020 is Cancelled

Dear Skeeter participants,

Due to the COVID-19 virus that is going around, it is with a heavy heart that we must inform you all that we have decided to cancel Skeeter 2020. This decision did not come lightly as the staff met many times via voice chat to discuss how things were going to look this year, and due to the pandemic, we cannot see any way that the camp can or should go on. The last thing that we want is to give anyone a reason to travel and potentially get sick after all this social distancing that we’ve been doing the past while. We apologize for anyone who was looking forward to attending Skeeter this year. We do plan on running Skeeter again in 2021 and we hope to see you all there!

Sincerely,

Camp Skeeter Staff

Skeeter Rolls a D20

This year’s theme for Camp Skeeter is “Skeeter rolls a D20!” So be prepared to whip out your dice bag and put on your robe and wizard hat, then get yourself lost in the forgotten realms as you explore some dungeons and slay dragons! All of this year’s events will have a roleplaying twist to them. You are welcome to decorate your campsite with and wear costumes based on the theme, there will be prizes and awards.

Registration for Camp

For those coming to camp. You are not allowed onto the site until you pass through the registration tent and are fully registered. It make our jobs much easier if you pre-register for camp as we have less processing to do when you arrive. Even if your numbers may change, if you pay when you arrive at camp you won’t be charged for members who do not come to camp even if you pre-register them. It is also much faster to add one or two people to a pre-registered groups registration than register a whole group that is not registered. Please help make our jobs easier by pre-registering and we can get you into the venue much faster.

What is Camp Skeeter

Camp Skeeters is one of the four senior section camps in British Columbia run throughout the scouting and guiding year. We provide a fun and safe atmosphere where scouting and guiding youth can network and have fun with their peers. We are open to registered scouting and guiding members from the venturers, rovers and rangers sections age 14 and over. Each year we choose a new theme so all our activities have a different twist to them. You will likely also see many people in themed costume. If you are needing more information please refer to our registration package or email chief@skeeter.ca
